Case overview: Open and navigate a case

Written by amaise Support

When you open a case, you see amaise’s central workspace. Here’s a quick overview of the main areas.

The top bar

At the top of the screen, from left to right, you’ll find:

  1. Workspace name — Shows which workspace you are in

  2. Opened case — Name and reference of the currently opened case (see section "View case data" below)

  3. Active view — The view you are currently in (e.g., dashboards, document review, case timeline)

  4. Search bar — Search all documents in the case by full-text search (see "Document review: Full-text search"). The search bar is only visible in the document review view.

  5. Workspace switch — If you have access to multiple workspaces, switch here

  6. Help — Contextual help and links to the knowledge base

  7. Notifications — Shows your unread notifications

  8. Avatar menu — Your user profile with these options:

    • User settings — Adjust personal settings

    • Change language — Switch display language

    • Keyboard shortcuts — Open the keyboard shortcut overview

    • Log out — Log out of amaise

The left navigation bar

The left navigation bar shows the main views within a case. The active view is highlighted so you always know where you are.

Click an icon to switch views.

Tools within document review:

When document review is open, additional tools that belong only to this view appear beneath the view icons:

  • Document storage — Document list with filters for dossier, document type, and label

  • Diagnosis overview — All diagnoses at a glance

  • Work impairment overview — Overview of work disability periods

  • Document exports — Export and share documents (see "Document export: Creating and sharing exports")

The tool bar on the right edge

On the right edge of the screen, you’ll find a tool bar with cross-view tools. They are available in every view and open as a panel on the right side — only one panel at a time:

  • CasePilot — AI assistant for case-related questions

  • DocPilot — AI assistant for document-related questions

  • Notebook — Create and manage case notes

  • Collaboration — Work with external people (see Collaboration: Ask a colleague or external person)

  • Access management — Manage access to the case

Click an icon in the tool bar on the right edge to open the corresponding panel.

View and edit case data

If you hover over or click the case name in the top bar, a panel opens with the case data:

  • Left: A menu with actions for the case (e.g., close case, edit case data)

  • Right: The most important personal details (PIIs) of the case — e.g., first name, last name, reference number, client

You can copy the displayed data directly (click the copy button next to the value). Use the Edit button to adjust the case data. Click Show all to display all available fields.

Keyboard shortcuts

You can move through the case list and start a search without the mouse:

  • / — Move between cases

  • Enter — Open the selected case

  • / — Focus the search

Back to case overview

Click the workspace name in the top bar to return to the case overview.
